When you have been in the t-shirt and apparel industry for 19 years, there are (many) days when you feel there is nothing unique that hasn’t already been done probably 100 times before on a t-shirt or a piece of clothing. You sit around and scratch your head wondering what you could possibly design that is “fresh”, that might be important or meaningful and worthy of having good hard-earned money being spent on it.  And on those days you usually go to bed no closer to the answer to your question. And then every once in a while, at about the same frequency as winning the pick 3 lottery or finding a four leaf clover,  you have one of those moments when the stars line up and the rainbow lands in your backyard and Ed McMahon is standing in your driveway with a bunch of balloons and a TV camera and you realize that the answer to your question has been staring at you all along. And when I say staring, I mean literally, as in my wife staring at me with a crazed look in her eyes while simultaneously making toaster waffles, filling the dog dish, putting the fruit cup in the lunchbox and re-scheduling the washer repair man… all with only two hands! What I’m talking about here people is me time.
Like most men, I had heard of this foreign concept, usually inserted into conversations as I headed out the door with my golf clubs over my shoulder. What I have since come to understand in the process of having 3 beautiful children is that men tend to get their fair share of time doing whatever it is they like to do when they have 4 or 5 hours to kill, and women… do not. Achieve Balance. Embrace Life. What started out as a few t-shirt designs in early 2007 has now evolved into the next great women’s brand. This website in a nutshell shows the evolution of me time in our company in a very short period of time. Sure we design great looking apparel that carries the all-important me time message in a variety of designs, styles and colors. So when Mark Lane and I put our heads together in the fall of 2006 to try to come up with that new, fresh, important, meaningful apparel contribution to society, and the talk revolved around our supportive wives and active kids, the proverbial light bulb went off and the new buzz word “me time” that we were becoming familiar with became more than just our next apparel line. It became our cause.
regarding the importance of me time as a regular item on a women’s “to-do” list for her physical, mental and emotional well being. Women, whether they work in the home or outside the home, whether they have families or not, tend to the needs of everyone else before their own needs.
