Serenity Garden
There are few things more relaxing than being in a garden; flowers, plants, trees, birds and nature in abundance is both calming and revitalizing. In our busy world and especially for busy moms a garden can be a haven, where you can take time to refresh yourself for five minutes or a few hours and return to family life full of renewed energy. A serenity garden is a wonderful way, to make an outdoor sanctuary just the way that you would like it and it does not need to be complicated or a time consuming task; after all, serenity is all about simplicity.

The first thing to do is choose a peaceful spot in the garden, somewhere that is more private if possible, tucked away in a corner somewhere. The aim of a serenity garden is to leave the bustling world behind when you enter it, yet if there is no place in your plot for a private place there are ways to give the feeling of seclusion. A gate or trellis is an excellent way to make an entrance way into the serenity garden, but if this is not possible two pots filled with grasses and tall sunflowers can mark the entry into the space.
Choose flowers and plants that make you feel joyful; this is your spot and filling it with your favorite blooms will definitely be a great way to lift your spirits. Herbs are also a wonderful way to calm the senses and add a touch of serenity, the aromatic smell of mint, lemon grass and thyme are healing and refreshing; so plant them in some beautiful pots and place them all over the garden.
A water feature is an important part of any peaceful garden and there are many fabulous water fountains on the market. There is nothing like the sound of water flowing to calm the spirit and help you ‘go with the flow’. Placing Rocks and outdoor artifacts in the garden can help make the spot more joyful for you, especially if they represent things that make you feel happy and calm. Seashells and driftwood collected from a favorite beach can re-create happy memories and are lovely to look at. A Bird house can attract some lively entertainment in your serenity spot; after all the sound of birds singing is music for the soul.
As this is a space to relax, a place to sit is essential. Choose a spot that affords a lovely view and put a bench or a chair there, then sit back and serenely enjoy the fruits of your labor. So step outside and make your serenity a priority! Peace never looked lovelier!
