Simple Tips to Organize Your Junk Drawer

A junk drawer is usually a “catch-all” drawer in a high traffic area like the kitchen or bathroom and we ALL have them! So how do you bring some order to that kind of chaos? Here’s some tips to help you get started:
- Schedule approximately 1-2 hours for a kitchen drawer
- Clear a work surface to place items on
- Open the drawer & take a deep breathe
- Begin pulling things out you recognize & placing
them on the work surface in categories

- When you get to the “I don’t know” stuff, make a ‘not sure’ category
- Work until you have emptied the drawer
- Containerize within the drawer
- whether you use a silverware tray, plastic bins or bamboo boxes – it’s up to you!
- if you don’t label your areas be sure to make it obvious where thing belong, so they find their way home again!
- measure the drawer before you shop
- have a good idea of what your categories are before you buy anything
- to ensure it will all fit!
