Me Time Management Team
President
Mark Lane is currently President of Coed Sportswear, Inc. a company he founded with his partner Scott MacHardy in 1990 after graduating from the Whittemore School of Business at the University of New Hampshire. Coed Sportswear has been a leader in the imprinted apparel business for the last eighteen years, selling over 30 million t-shirts and related apparel during that time frame. The company sells product into major department stores, big box chains, major sporting goods stores and thousands of independent retailers. Lane has won the Small Business Administration’s Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award for New Hampshire, New England and the United States. The National Award was celebrated in a Rose Garden Ceremony with President Clinton. Lane’s latest achievement is the launch of www.metime.com, a website designed to revolutionize the way women manage their personal “me time” which will lead to healthier and more productive lives.
Lane is also President of Printed Matter, Inc. a sister company of Coed Sportswear that manages all of the printing needs for Coed Sportswear. Lane also operates SML, LLC the real estate partnership that manages the Coed Sportswear building. Lane is married with three young children. Outside of work he enjoys coaching and watching his kid’s activities as well as golfing, biking skiing and other outdoor activities.
Executive Vice President
In September of 1990 while entering his senior year at the University of New Hampshire, Scott MacHardy and his partner Mark Lane formed Coed Sportswear to service the imprinted apparel industry. With a passion for outstanding customer service and quality products, Coed Sportswear quickly became one of the most successful and respected suppliers in the country. Selling over 30 million t-shirts and related apparel since its inception and increasing the national distribution channel to include almost every major retailer and thousands of independent specialty stores grew the company to prominence. This success earned MacHardy and Lane the prestigious title of National Young Entrepreneurs of the Year by the United States Small Business Administration, awarded in a Rose Garden ceremony at the White House. Having focused on products for the collegiate industry, the resort trade, and the sporting goods category, MacHardy is now proud to launch a women’s boutique brand called “me time”. The brand focuses on the important need for busy women to enjoy personal time away from the stress of work and/or family to pursue their own passions and interests for a better quality of life, and their mental and physical well-being.
In the past 18 years MacHardy has purchased Printed Matter, one of the largest contract screen printing companies in the northeast, as well as form SML Real Estate to handle the company’s commercial property. MacHardy is married to his wife Laura of 15 years, and is the proud father of 3 children. When he is not creating the next great apparel brand, MacHardy enjoys golfing, coaching his children’s various sports teams, traveling, and speaking to young entrepreneurs regarding their future as owners in the business world.
Creative Services and eCommerce Marketing
Amy Spainhower began working with Me Time as a freelance t-shirt designer through her own business, Wedgewood Graphic Design. She has designed a majority of the t-shirts in the current offering. Following her passion for the “Me Time” concept, she joined the Me Time team in an integral role to establish and advance the Me Time brand and movement within the consumer marketplace.
Prior to joining the Me Time team, Amy worked for Bottomline Technologies, an international financial software company, for 16 years. During that time she served 8 years as the Creative Services Manager for North America and offered support to international offices. Her work in that role received awards for creative advertising from Graphic Design USA and an Honorable Mention from the prestigious MarCom Awards. While at Bottomline, she also served as Corporate Services Manager in the Support Division, as well as, Implementation Manager for customers such as Osh Kosh B’Gosh, Harvard University, Bank of America, Penzoil Corporation and Gillette/Oral-B. Amy is a member of the New Hampshire Creative Club. Amy has been married to her husband Todd for 14 years and they have two beautiful children. Outside of work you can find her snapping pictures from the media stand at her son’s hockey games or soaking up the sun and cheering at her daughter’s softball games. She enjoys cooking, scrapbooking, decorating and anything crafty.
Vice President Sales
Don Lane has been the Vice President of Sales at Coed Sportswear, Inc. since September of 1992. Lane is in charge of developing markets and distribution strategies for all of the different imprinted apparel lines Coed Sportswear offers. He is responsible for hiring and managing independent sales reps that carry Coed product into each of the various markets. In sixteen years, Lane’s efforts have helped the company open over 16,000 independent retail stores and partner with most major retail sporting goods stores and department stores. Lane attended Plymouth State College as a health major and later went to work in sales for Puma-Etonic prior to joining Coed Sportswear. Lane is married with two children. His interests include coaching baseball, football and basketball as well as enjoying hiking and other outside activities with his family.
Sales Director
Selim Tobey is currently the Sales Director for Coed Sportswear and the Me Time Brand. Since joining Coed Sportswear in July of 1999, Selim has developed businesses with many of the country’s top retail names including Nordstrom, Macys, Sports Authority, JC Penney’s, and Dillard’s, Target and Disney. In addition to managing major accounts, he is leading the effort to make Me Time, Coed Sportswear’s newest brand, a winner in the boutique and resort markets.
Among his significant previous positions, Selim served a Sales Executive for Key Corp, a Cleveland based financial Services Company where he was the top producing Salesperson in NH. He was also the Operations Manager for Hannaford Brothers where he helped implement the companies self directed work team initiatives. Selim is married with one daughter, Alexandria. Outside of work he enjoys travelling, basketball photography and the outdoors.
Vice President, Marketing
Dan Dumais has been with Coed Sportswear for 18 years and has held many roles as the company has expanded. Dan has served as the Director of Marketing for over 10 years and is responsible for the development of marketing programs and materials, public relations, advertising, trade show coordination, and overall website management for the Me Time brand. He also oversees Coed’s Fundraisingtees division. Dan’s background and degree in Sports Marketing and Promotion coupled with several years of Product Management experience will allow him to assist in the development of the Me Time brand and movement.
Dan was a contributing writer to the Sport Marketing Textbook, written by Bernard James Mullin and Stephen Hardy. In his free time Dan is an avid golfer and enjoys various other outdoor activities as well as spending quality time with his fiancé, friends, and family.
Mike Grant
National Sales Manager, Coed Sportswear, Inc.
Mike Grant joined Coed Sportswear, Inc. in December of 1993. He helped to build the inside and outside sales force from the ground up and set customer service standards un-paralleled in the industry. Mike is intricately involved in every sales aspect, dividing sales management, product management, and sales growth responsibilities. Grant graduated from Allegheny College where met his wife, Karen, and was captain of both the football and track teams. He enjoyed a successful 10 year career with Roadway Express as manager, quality trainer, and sales representative, winning the Presidents award for sales distinction before joining the Coed team. With three active children, Alex, Anna, and Tyler, Mike and Karen spend many hours on the sidelines supporting a variety of athletic programs. Grant was elected to the Stratham Baseball 108 Stitch Club for outstanding community service, and enjoys coaching youth sports.
