Dr. TGJ (Tom) van Eijk (BIG 59048577101) completed his medical training at the University of Nijmegen and the University of Amsterdam, at the Academic Medical Center. During his studies, he conducted research in the Department of Experimental Surgery into the physical properties of biomaterials. In the Department of Plastic Surgery, he was involved in research into the heredity of skin conditions.

He gained extensive surgical experience at the Department of Cardio-Thoracic Surgery at the Onze Lieve Vrouwe Gasthuis. Subsequently, he was affiliated with the Department of Plastic Surgery at the Slotervaart Hospital in Amsterdam for three years. During this period, he received training in cosmetic surgery and his interest in the possibilities of injectables such as Botox and fillers was sparked.

Over the course of fifteen years, he has developed into an international leader in the field of injectables. He devised the revolutionary ' Fern Pattern Technique ' for Restylane.

Born in 1969, based in Amsterdam, Dr. Tom van Eijk is one of the world most influential aesthetic physicians.

After dedicating two years to Cardiothoracic Surgery, Dr. van Eijk then began to focus on Plastic Surgery, gathering three years of experience. In 2003 Dr. Tom van Eijk decided to concentrate on injectables and started instructing others in The Netherlands during 2005, (Restylane® and Botox®), Belgium (Dysport®) and developed the Fern Pattern Technique TM, introducing it in Sweden the Fall of 2005.

The article on the topic was in the August 2007 issue of the New York Journal of Drugs in Dermatology. This Journal also published his article about the Lip Tenting TechniqueTM . The success of Fern Pattern TechniqueTM and the Lip Tenting TechniqueTM  is evident, as Dr. van Eijk has presented these techniques all over the world, from Vancouver to Manila, from Stockholm to Hong Kong.
