Nose fillers are used to change the contour of the nose slightly. This is a delicate area that should only be injected by experienced medical professionals in select cases. Fillers, usually hyaluronic acid, are placed to make the nose appear straighter or sometimes modify the tip to enhance the profile.

Nose fillers

Using a non-ablative laser, the skin is resurfaced without vaporizing the outer layer of skin during the treatment. The wavelength of non-ablative lasers allows them to heat and destroy channels of tissue in the upper layers of skin whilst preserving the epidermis. The recovery is shorter compared to an ablative laser, and there is no raw surface immediately after the treatment. Non-ablative laser resurfacing usually requires a course of treatments for best results and is used for improving skin texture, pigmentation, and scarring.

Vascular lasers can treat variety of conditions including dilated or unsightly blood vessels. The lasers employ a specific wavelength of light the targets the blood in blood vessels, heating the vessels and effectively destroying them. Vascular lasers include pulsed-dye lasers and NdYAG lasers.  They can be used for conditions such as leg telangiectasias or “broken veins”.  A number of treatments may be required for optimum results.

Liposuction is used to contour the body by removing fat that lies under the skin through special suction tubes called cannulas. Liposuction can be performed under local anaesthesia or general anaesthesia. Almost all parts of the body can be treated with liposuction. Various forms of liposuction exist, including those that use suction alone, or those that use energy to assist the procedure, such as laser, ultrasound, or vibration.

The peeling away of the outer layer of dead skin cells on the skin’s outermost layer. Most microdermabrasion devices use tiny particles, diamond-tipped grits, or patented tips to gently blast or scrape away the epidermal cells. Microdermabrasion is designed to give an instant smoothing effect, although a course of several treatments is often recommended to give better results over time. The skin may be pink after treatment but this usually resolves quickly.

Microdermabrasion

A lift of the middle part of the face including the cheeks, nose-to-mouth folds and mouth corners. This may be performed through incisions placed behind the hairline near the temple, in the lower eyelid, and in the mouth. Special stitches may be used to lift and suspend the tissues of the midface to improve the shape of the face, reduce sagging, and lift the cheeks.

Midface lift

This is used to remove unwanted skin cells by freezing them. The area is sprayed until temperatures are so low that the skin lesion freezes. More than one treatment may be necessary to remove the unwanted cells. Cryotherapy, or therapy that induces very low temperatures in tissues, may also be used to treat unwanted fat. This is called crylipolysis or “fat freezing”.

Cryotherapy

A surgical neck lift usually involves tightening the muscles to remove the sagging and improve the angle under the chin, as well as lifting and trimming excess skin. This is commonly performed together with a face lift. The incisions and scars vary, but can be behind the ear and into the hairline and a smaller incision under the chin to access the muscles. A neck lift is a definitive surgical rejuvenation that requires healing and recovery.

Fillers like hyaluronic acid or calcium hydroxylapatite can be used to plump the tissues in the back of the hands. As we age, we lose fat under the skin, making the veins and tendons more prominent. Soft tissue augmentation with fillers restores youthful fullness. They are usually placed through tiny punctures and blunt-tipped cannulas. Hand fillers can be used in conjunction with other anti-aging hand treatments like lasers for skin rejuvenation.

Various threads are used to lift different parts of the face, or even body. These can be dissolvable or permanent materials, and have different appearances. Some are smooth, some have tiny hooks or barbs, others have cones. A thread lift is usually performed under local anaesthesia as a minimally invasive treatment. The threads may be anchored or ‘free-floating’. Some thread lifts require small incisions whereas others are inserted through punctures without making incisions.

This surgical procedure helps make the eyes appear more youthful by removing excess skin, muscle and fat between the eyelids and brows. A small incision is made in the crease of the eyelid either under local or general anaesthesia. Fine stitches are used to close the incision and these are usually removed 5-7 days after surgery. Upper blepharoplasty rectifies the hooding that occurs with aging in some people.

The size of the nipples or pink part around the nipples (areolae) is reduced with nippled reduction surgery. A sizer is often used to measure the target circumference of the nipple areola complex (NAC). Then the excess, unwanted areola is removed using an incision. Fine stitches are used to close the skin so the scar heals well and becomes difficult to notice over time.

VASER is an advanced liposuction technology that uses special ultrasonic probes to break up fat.  This facilitates fat removal in most areas of the body, including delicate areas like the neck, jawline, and calves.  VASER can also be used superficially to improve definition and enhance the skin tightening effect.  Often performed under local anaesthesia, fat can be removed through suction after VASER and even transferred to other areas of the body if fat grafting is required. 

Electromagnetic energy in the radiofrequency range that comprise smaller frequencies than other radio waves. The energy delivered by microwave energy devices can penetrate the skin and generate heat in a relatively localised area. Clinically, this has been used to target sweat glands safely. Skin cooling in these devices protects excessive energy delivery to the skin and helps avoid complications.

This procedure helps improve under-eye bulges or bags as well as loose skin. The incision used is either just under the eyelashes in the skin (transcutaneous) or on the inside of the lower eyelid (transconjunctival). Variations in lower blepharoplasty include trimming away excess bulging fat, repositioning this fat to reduce under-eye hollows, and supporting the outer lower eyelid with fine stitches to prevent it from sagging and improve the shape of the lower eyelid.

Lip enhancement using lip fillers use hyaluronic acid gels to improve definition of the lip borders, enhance volume, or both. They can be tailored depending on the desired look. After topical or injectable numbing of the area, the filler is injected carefully giving instant results. Lip fillers can also improve symmetry and balance facial proportions. Lip fillers can be topped-up or even dissolved if reversible hyaluronic acid products are used.

These fillers are placed using either needles or cannulas to add volume, shape and definition to facial features. The can reduce shadows, improve proportions, balance facial features and increase attractiveness. Facial contouring fillers are predominantly non-permanent biocompatible substances like hyaluronic acid fillers that last several months to years.

Fillers like hyaluronic acid consist or a clear gel that can be injected into the upper layers (dermis) of the skin to eliminate or reduce wrinkles, add volume, and give structural support to certain features.  These clear, biocompatible sterile gels are the most commonly used fillers and results last approximately 6-12 months. Many dermal filler brands contain local anaesthesia to reduce discomfort.

Jawline liposuction involves gently removing fat from the lower face , above and below the mandible using small thin tubes called cannulas. Often performed under local anaesthesia, jawline liposuction gives the jawline a more defined appearance after all the swelling subsides. Typically, a compression garment must be worn after the procedure. Sometimes other devices are used during jawline liposuction to enhance the skin tightening results, including lasers, plasma, or ultrasound.

Agents such as creams, lotions, serums and ointments that contain active ingredients designed to help improve the skin or lesions on the skin. Cosmeceuticals include vitamins, anti-oxidants, acids and retinoids that have several benefits for skin. Many of them are home use agents, applied according to specific protocols and they exhibit their beneficial effects over time.

This surgical procedure has been used for many years to improve sagging of the face due to aging. A traditional facelift incision is usually made in front of the ear, along the hairline, and inside the hairline. There are various types of facelift procedures. Drains and bandages may be placed to ensure optimum recovery after surgery. A neck lift is frequently performed at the same time.

Face lift

Liposuction of the arms slims the arms through removal of fat from the front, back, or even circumferentially. Small incisions are made to access the fat with blunt-tipped cannulas. The procedure can be performed under local or general anaesthesia. Depending on the skin quality, devices designed to heat and tighten the skin may be used together with the suction during the procedure. Usually compression garments must be worn during the healing phase.

Arms liposuction

Hyaluronic acid fillers can be placed under the eyes in select cases to lift out the tissues, softening tear trough shadows and smoothing the junction between the eyelid and the cheek. Usually a small cannula is used to place tiny volumes beneath the muscle in this delicate area. This should be performed by expert injectors because it is an unforgiving area to treat. Results can last several months or even years.

Undereye fillers

Lasers are powerful devices that emit light at certain wavelengths in order to have an effect on tissues in the skin or body. Ablative lasers vaporise or peel skin. Non-ablative lasers usually heat skin without peeling. Lasers can heat collagen effectively, causing improvement in texture, tightness and pores. Lasers can be used to rejuvenate by treating blood vessels, removing hair, stimulating biological processes or peeling the outer, unwanted layers of skin or tissue.

Laser rejuvenation

Using lasers designed to specifically target the pigment in hair so that the hair follicle is destroyed selectively. Laser hair removal is most effective on dark hair, particularly when the skin is fair. Darker skin types can also be treated effectively using lasers with a long pulse width. Typically, several treatments are required for permanent hair reduction. Lasers for hair removal vary in their wavelength, power, and methods for cooling the skin during treatment.

These are gels (not fillers) consisting of natural molecules that stimulate collagen and elastic production, improve skin hydration, and provide skin regeneration by improving blood supply and through their antioxidant properties. They are injected in droplets into the upper layers of skin and can different formulations are designed to treat facial skin, delicate skin around the eyes, or skin on the body. They can improve skin firmness and reduce wrinkles.

Polynucleotides

Moxi is a gentle but effective non-ablative laser (1927nm wavelength) that resurfaces the skin and peels away pigmentation. The treatment usually takes less than 30 minutes and the results include brighter, smoother skin that glows. After the treatment, some pinkness is normal, and the skin feels rough to touch for a few days before the results appear. Moxi is suitable for all skin types and those looking for “prejuvenation” and maintenance to keep skin looking healthy. A course of three treatments may be advised for best results.

It addresses concerns such as pigmentation, freckles, redness, acne, texture and age spots. The treatment is fast and non-invasive, with minimal downtime, allowing immediate return to normal activities. The most commonly used fillers today are non-permanent and consist of hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring molecule found in skin, joints and in the eyes.  Several brands of hyaluronic acid filler are available.  They all comprise a clear, soft, sterile gel that is injected into the skin or beneath the skin to soften lines, contour facial features, or add volume.  Fillers may be injected under local anaesthesia, and results can last about 6-18 months.

Earlobe surgery can correct defects or tears in the soft tissues of the ear.  The size of the earlobes can also be reduced by excising or removing a portion and stitching it, usually under local anaesthesia.

This fat gives fullness to the lower face, between the jowls and the cheeks. Partial removal of the buccal fat is performed to reduce a full lower face, or “chipmunk cheeks”. Buccal fat removal is usually done through a small incision on the inside of the mouth where the fat is gently retrieved. It may be performed under local anaesthesia or as part of other surgical procedures. A dissolvable stitch is usually placed to close the incision.

Buccal fat removal

A skin resurfacing or peeling treatment that uses chemicals, usually special acids, to remove the top layer of skin. A chemical peel is indicated to treat pigmentation, sun damage, acne, or fine wrinkles. The depth of peel, results, and recovery period depend on which chemical is used during the peel. Chemical peels can be superficial, medium depth, or deep peels. Peeling agents include salicylic acid, azelaic acid, glycolic acid and trichloroacetic acid (TCA).

A few injections typically placed immediately above the upper lip to relax the muscle slightly. A botox lip flip is used alone or in combination with fillers to evert or show more of the top lip, giving a fuller appearance.  Results can take 10-14 days and last 2-4 months.  When the orbicularis oris muscle is relaxed in this way, the appearance of vertical lip lines or “smoker’s lines” may also improve.

A surgical brow lift can be performed either through keyhole surgery with small incisions behind the hairline, using longer incisions behind the airline, or even by removing skin and lifting the brow directly with an incision at the eyebrow hair. Usually, the muscles are released around the eye at the level of the brow and sometimes stitches are used to anchor the soft tissues in place so the brow assumes a new elevated position.

A substance is injected through the skin into the underlying fat to destroy fat cells. Usually these injected substances reduce fat by breaking the fat cell membranes. Injection lipolysis is used to reduce small pockets of stubborn, unwanted fat like under the chin. After the treatment, the area tends to become red and swollen for a few days. Several treatments may be necessary for a full result.

Surgical removal of excess, sagging skin in the upper arm. Usually, an incision is made from the armpit area, along the inside of the arm, to the inner elbow. An arm lift is usually performed under general anaesthesia and requires a compression garment to be worn afterwards for a number of weeks. The scar is placed on the inside of the arm so it is less noticeable. An arm lift is sometimes required if skin tightening treatments or liposuction are not considered appropriate due to excessive skin laxity.

Arm lift / brachiaplasty

Lasers use a specific wavelength of light to exhibit their effects. The wavelength determines the target for that specific laser. Most lasers are designed to heat and destroy a specific target and leave surrounding tissue untouched and undamaged. Lasers can peel skin, remove hair, rejuvenate skin, treat vascular conditions and remove pigmentation and tattoos. Various safety protocols are required when lasers are used, such as eye protection with goggles or eye shields.

Laser

Laser treatment for onychomycosis, a fungal nail infection, involves using specific wavelengths of light to heat and eradicate the fungi. This non-invasive procedure passes the laser beam over the infected nails, penetrating the nail plate to target the fungus underneath. It's a painless, safe alternative to oral medications, avoiding systemic side effects. Multiple sessions are typically required for effectiveness. While not universally effective for all cases, it's a promising option for many patients seeking fungal nail resolution.

Laser for onychomycosis

Surgical remodelling of the soft tissues or cartilage of the ear to improve shape, symmetry, or projection. Various otoplasty techniques have been described to treat congenital conditions, or changes that have occurred over time or with trauma. A head bandage is usually required after otoplasty surgery.

Otoplasty

By peeling or heating the vaginal canal using lasers or radiofrequency energy, collagen remodelling and tightening can occur. These non-surgical treatments are designed to treat reduced sensation, dryness, and even mild stress urinary incontinence. Often a course of treatments is recommended for best results. The treatments tend to be painless. Like most collagen stimulating treatments, it can take weeks or months for a full result.

Laser or radiofrequency vaginal rejuvenation

This procedure involves passing small probes underneath the skin to heat the undersurface of the skin or tighten the fibres that pass underneath the skin to induce tissue tightening. The probes may be radiofrequency, laser or plasma technologies. Typically performed under local anaesthesia, small punctures or incisions only are required to access the subcutaneous layer. Final results can take weeks or months as the collagen tightens and remodels. Sometimes liposuction is performed att the same time.

Internal skin tightening

Fat can be removed from the outer and inner thighs, but sometimes also the fat on the front and back of the thighs and around the knees. Some surgeons use energy-based devices to assist with breaking down the fat before or during removal. The procedure can be performed under general or local anaesthesia. Compression garments are required afterwards for a period of time to help skin retraction and reduce swelling.

Thighs liposuction

Photorejuvenation is the general term used to describe light devices that improve skin quality, texture, redness, and pigmented spots like freckles and sun damage. Typically, powerful lights are used with a broad spectrum, unlike lasers.  Devices vary hugely in their power and sophistication, with some being more effective, safer, and versatile in different skin types. Most devices facilitate different handpieces or different filters to modify the band of light being emitted to optimise results for various skin concerns.

Photorejuvenation

Radiofrequency energy is used to heat the tissues below the skin to temperatures that can exhibit changes in fat cells, shrinking them. This is a non-invasive treatment that usually requires a number of treatments over time and can safely be used on most body parts. The bulk heating of skin and fat can also help tighten the overlying skin.

Fillers such as hyaluronic acid or calcium hydroxylapatite are often used to make the jawline more defined or sharper. The fillers are placed either under the skin or on the jawbone to provide instant results. Depending on the filler and volume used as well as the placement, they can last about 6-18 months. If there is too much sagging or heaviness, other lifting or tightening treatments may be more appropriate.

Jawline fillers

Skin tightening that occurs when collagen is stimulated due to heating of the tissues from radiofrequency (RF) electromagnetic energy. Usually a solution is applied to the skin and a probe passes over the surface, gently heating the tissues to the desired temperature. External RF is a non-invasive treatment. A number of treatments may be recommended.

Microneedling is a treatment where numerous tiny needles penetrate the skin to stimulate collagen, resulting in tighter skin with fewer lines and improved texture. The needles are small, usually up to three millimetres in length, and arranged on a device such as a stamping tool, pen, or roller. Local anaesthesia may be used to numb the skin before microneedling is performed. The skin can appear pink after the treatment, which may be repeated several times for best results.

Strengthening the chin with fillers can improve facial proportions and angles by forward-projection on the profile view. Usually non-permanent fillers are placed using a needle or cannula on the bone or under the skin. For fine lines on the chin and dimpling, fillers are injected in the skin or botox is used to relax the underlying muscles. The results of contouring the chin with fillers can last over a year.

A treatment that improves the skin’s condition using gentle techniques such as massage, exfoliation, the application of topicals, and masks. Numerous types of facials are available to improve hydration, smoothness, and radiance. Some devices are used in addition to manual techniques during skin facials, with tips that provide suction, peeling, and moisturising. There is usually little or no downtime after skin facials.

Fat is taken (harvested) from different parts of the body, such as the thighs or tummy, using liposuction and injected into the breast area. Breast fat grafting is used to add volume to the breasts, correct symmetry, or during breast reconstruction. Once fat is collected, it is usually treated to clean and purify it. The fat is prepared in syringes and injected carefully above and below the breast gland using a special technique in order to help the fat cells survive in their new position.

A peeling treatment that uses lasers, such as carbon dioxide and erbium lasers, to remove the outer skin layers precisely. The type of laser and settings used determine how the skin peels and heals. Laser skin resurfacing is used to reduce sun damage, pigmentation, and fine wrinkles. The treatment usually requires some form of anaesthesia and special skin care during the healing period after the treatment.

A non-invasive treatment to reduce stubborn fatty deposits in areas such as the tummy, flanks or thighs. Usually, these technologies are designed to emit precise beams of sound waves that focus underneath the skin at different depths. The intensely focused beams heat the fat cells to the point where they rupture, causing fat cell reduction. A series of treatments may be necessary. The treatment has minimal downtime given that it does not require incisions or surgery or even needles.

Ultrasound fat reduction

Fillers placed in the delicate area around the eyes to reduce hollowing and a sunken appearance. Usually, it involves placing tiny threads of hyaluronic acid using blunt-tipped cannulas in order to augment the soft tissues. This restores the appearance of fullness and reduces shadows. A careful assessment by an expert provider is important before any proposed treatment.

Periorbital fillers

Surgically improving the appearance of a pre-existing scar using various techniques. The existing scar is often removed using a separate, new incision. The edges of the new wound are brought together in a way that reduces tension on the healing incision, so that the scar becomes less obvious.

Scar revision

Increasing the volume and enhancing the shape and contours of the buttocks using your own fat. Fat is collected (harvested) using liposuction from areas such as the tummy, back, or thighs. The fat is usually prepared in order to purify or clean it, before injecting it carefully into the buttock area using special techniques and instruments called cannulas.

Buttock fat grafting

Technologies that use either one wavelength or a band of light to target blood vessels and redness in or under the skin. Depending on the condition being treated and your skin type, settings can be adjusted to selectively target the vessels and reduce or clear them over a course of treatments. After-effects include redness, mild swelling, or bruising. This can be discussed with your treatment provider beforehand.

Vascular laser or light

A series of small injections of a purified neurotoxin that temporarily blocks nerve impulses to muscles or other tissues, causing the muscles to relax.  When muscles relax, the overlying skin moves less, effectively reducing wrinkles.  Botulinum toxin injections can be strategically placed for various other indications, including rejuvenation of the upper and lower face, reducing sweating, and medical conditions such as migraine. The effects usually wear off after a few months.

These are gels consisting of hyaluronic acid molecules that are powerful hydrators of skin. Injected into the upper layer of skin, HA skin boosters attract water and provide an instant plumping effect. The skin typically appears more radiant and glowing, with a reduction in fine lines. Ideal for dull, dry skin, Skin boosters with HA usually require maintenance treatments for ongoing benefits. Although they are not fillers, they can be used in combination with many other treatments including fillers.

Ultrasound technologies are effective at treating fine lines and wrinkles, lifting skin, and even treating scars. Devices employ sound waves that are either focused or in parallel, targeting different depths of tissues precisely under real-time imaging. Mild swelling and redness is typical following a treatment, which is non-invasive.

Ultrasound skin tightening

Aging frequently involves midface volume loss, so adding volume using fillers like hyaluronic acid can restore youthful traits. Midface fillers can help reduce undereye shadows, improve face shape, and even provide a subtle lift to the lower face. Midface fillers placed over the zygomatic bones can also help define the cheekbones. Hyaluronic acid fillers are usually placed deep in the tissues and can give visible results for 12-18 months.

Unlike non-invasive alternatives, liposuction of the male chest offers an effective way to remove this stubborn fat. Small cannulas are used to suction the fat under the skin to improve the chest contour. Sometimes fat near the armpits must also be addressed. Male chest liposuction is often performed together with gynaecomastia surgery when the gland behind the nipple must be excised. The procedure can be performed under local or general anaesthesia and typically requires postoperative care including compression.

This is a blood product that is prepared by spinning a whole blood sample in a centrifuge in a special syringe. The blood separates into different components, including plasma rich in platelets, cell fragments that release growth factors. The gold-coloured platelet-rich plasma is used to rejuvenate tissues such as skin or hair, usually by injecting it in small droplets.

Fat is harvested from elsewhere using a mini-liposuction procedure and injected into different parts of the face to add youthful volume. A special technique using blunt cannulas is used so the fat cells survive where they are placed. Swelling and bruising is common after facial fat grafting. Fat grafting can be performed alone or in combination with other facial procedures such as face lifting to make the results more natural and impressive.

Neck liposuction, often performed together with jawline liposuction, involves placing small access incisions, usually below the ears and under the chin, to remove fat through suction. Often performed under local anaesthesia, neck liposuction improves the angle below the chin, removes the double chin fat, and can help tighten skin, particularly in younger patients or if devices such as laser, plasma, or ultrasound are used at the same time.

These products are biocompatible injectable products that stimulate collagen. They contain long chains of molecules, such as poly-L-lactic acid, that boost collagen production and create a volumizing effect in the tissues. This provides rejuvenation in areas where there is deep wrinkling or volume loss. Results from stimulators such as poly-L-lactic acid can last about 1-2 years. They can be used for face or body and may require a course of treatments.

Surgery designed to flatten and improve the contours of the male chest due to excessive tissue. There may be excessive gland and fat beneath the skin. The gland can be removed surgically through an incision around the nipples. Since gynaecomastia is often a mixed picture of fat and gland, liposuction is frequently performed to improve results. Gynaecomastia surgery can be performed under local or general anaesthesia. A compression garment is applied after the procedure.

This involves cutting and releasing the fibrous brands that contribute to the appearance of cellulite using special instruments. Usually, the surgeon will mark the depressions or shadows carefully to guide the procedure, inject local anaesthesia, and then release or ‘subcise” the cellulite bands. The desired result is more smoothness and less shadowing in the areas – typically the buttocks and thighs.

Fat cells are harvested from elsewhere using a mini-liposuction procedure and injected into the delicate area around the eyes, especially the undereye area. The benefits of using fat include the fact that your own cells are used. Also, fat grafting results can be long-lasting. Not all of the fat cells will survive after grafting, however, and the delicate undereye area requires skilled injections by an experienced surgeon.

The benefit of using hyaluronic acid fillers is that they can be dissolved using an enzyme called hyaluronidase. Hyaluronidase rapidly dissolves cross-linked hyaluronic acid gel if it is targeted correctly.  Speak with a medical professional if you feel you need to remove hyaluronic acid fillers. A skin test may be recommended prior to the injections.
